I just returned from twelve days of shooting in Grand Teton National Park, and what an epic shoot it was! For only the second time during all my years shooting in Grand Teton, I was fortunate enough to photograph a Teton wolf pack! What a great experience and one that is tough to come by. I also spent a good amount of time with a beautiful grizzly bear and a number of moose, and there were a few sunsets and a number of other wildlife experiences mixed in as well. I hope to get all of the new limited editions up on the website in the next few days, and many of them have been shared on my social media channels.

As always, I thank you for following along! I've got to get busy preparing for art show season, and I encourage you to consider supporting artists and artisans during the holiday season and all year-round.

I am extremely excited to share that I will be covering this year's 125th Cheyenne Frontier Days for "Wyoming Lifestyle Magazine." From the rodeo to the night shows and everything in between - documenting the full CFD experience.

This is so cool because it's a photojournalism and journalism assignment which will allow me to put my photography and writing passions together. I will also still be shooting every CFD rodeo performance for the great folks at the Flying B Invitational as their official photographer, so kind of a "two birds/one stone" thing each day.

Let's Rodeo!

I am excited to again be the official photographer for The Event at Archer. The Event at Archer is an equestrian event held at the Archer Complex in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The event has grown so much that there are actually two events each year, with the events this year being held in June and August. The June Event at Archer is being held Saturday, June 5th and Sunday, June 6th. **ALL images and information can be found over at 3HRodeo.com - 3H Photography's rodeo & eventing website.**

The Event at Archer is an incredible exhibition of strength, skill, and athletic ability of both horse and rider. It really is something to see and it is an event that I look forward to shooting each summer. The June Event is a two day event with both Dressage and Cross-Country phases being completed on Saturday and Stadium Jumping being completed on Sunday.

We are excited to get back in the arena, and there's no better time than the Flying B Bull Riding Series Finals. Between COVID and snowstorms we've been challenged to get our end of the 2021 rodeo season started, but we're ready to go and we're betting these bull riders are too.

The Flying B Youth Bull Riding Series Finals will be held on Saturday, March 27th at Riata Ranch here in Cheyenne. The action starts at 1:00 pm and admission is $5 with kids under 12 years old admitted for free.

Contestants & Family: I will be sharing the picture pricing sheet here as well as on the 3H Rodeo website (3HRodeo.com) and our social media pages. All of the event images will be shared in the 2021 Flying B Series Finals Gallery on the 3HRodeo website.

I have planned to get t-shirts designed for several years, but I had an image in my head that took some time to get articulated to my great friends at Colour Graphics. My plan was always to sell them in the 3H Store, so you will be able to order them from there momentarily. I do have embroidered gear that I wear for rodeo & equestrian events, but I haven't figured out yet how to offer that to my fans yet.

Pricing for the tees is as follows: $25 for the tees and $30 for the long sleeves, plus a little for shipping. Of course, any size above XL will be a few dollars more. All pricing will be specific in the 3H store. Inventory is expensive, so if you'd like to get yourself one, just let me know the size and if I don't have it in stock, Colour Graphics will print them up quickly. The 2020 Flying B Invitational Youth Bull Riding Finals will be held at the Archer complex & fairgrounds on Sunday, June 14th. There will be two rounds of bull riding with Series prizes and Finals prizes being awarded. The action will start at 10:00 am and we are excited to have received approval to have spectators at this exciting event. Please come out and support the future of rodeo!

Entries open on June 1st and close June 8th. The Archer complex is located at 3801 Archer Parkway just east of Cheyenne.

3H Photography participated in the social distancing photoshoot known as the Front Step Project #Frontstepproject. On Sunday, April 5th, we went out to capture families and friends during these unprecedented times.

The idea is pretty damn cool...5 minute photoshoots on YOUR FRONT PORCH. It has nothing to do with selling pictures and everything to do with giving people something to remember these times - a free digital high resolution picture (or five) of them with their loved ones. I know – I don’t typically “shoot” people (grizzlies tend to be my thing), but I want to do this as a Pay It Forward/give people something to smile about during these unusual & stressful times.

The idea is pretty damn cool...5 minute photoshoots on YOUR FRONT PORCH...depending on where your porch is, I may not even get out of my truck. I’ll just pull up, roll down the window, and well take some photos. Or stand at the end of your driveway, sidewalk, etc.

I will NOT be getting up-close, or coming in contact with anyone...I will not shake your hand or give you a hug...although we could all use a hug right now.
and no selfies...but a family photo on your front porch.

You can dress up, you can be goofy, you can wear your pajamas – I’ll wave Hi, you’ll wave Hi, and I’ll post the photos on my page, and email you a copy for whatever you like...

NO CHARGE...Just a cool thing we could do, and we’ll get some sun (hopefully) while we’re doing it.

I will again be shooting the Flying B Youth Bull Riding Series this year. One of my favorite things doing this gig is being the Flying B Official Photographer - these young guns are full of so much try, heart and promise!

The Flying B Bull Riding to Buck Cancer event will be at the LCCC arena on Saturday, January 11th with the action starting at 1:00 pm. The second Flying B event will be held on Saturday, January 18th at the LCCC arena, the third event will be in Laramie, Wyoming in February, the fourth event will be held in Riverton, Wyoming, and the finals will be held in Torrington, Wyoming. The Flying B Youth Bull Riding will also be held during the 2020 edition of Cheyenne Frontier Days. More information to come!

I will again be teaming-up with Judy Myers Photography to shoot the 3 Day Event at Archer August 23 - August 25th. The Event At Archer is a 3 day equestrian event that occurs at the Archer Eventing Park a few miles east of Cheyenne.

Judy and I are excited to again capture the excitement at Archer, and we will share some of the images in the Event At Archer gallery on the Galleries page.

Eventing could be termed an "equestrian triathlon." It involves working with a horse both on the flat and over fences. The three phases are: dressage, endurance (or cross-country), and show jumping. Over the centuries it has developed from the test of the ideal military charger into an Olympic Sport. Eventing has now evolved into an exciting sport attracting interest from all levels and ages of sports enthusiasts, from weekend hobby riders to professional international stars.

The idea for the Archer Eventing Park was conceived by Allison Murphy, an active eventing competitor based in Cheyenne, Wyoming. Allison reached out to local eventing community groups Windy Wyoming and Northern Colorado to share her idea for a local eventing course and found tremendous need and support for a public eventing venue for Northern Colorado and Southeastern Wyoming.

I will once again be found behind the chutes and in the camera pit during this the 123rd Cheyenne Frontier Days celebration. This year I will again be shooting the CFD rodeo performances for Bartlett Bucking Bulls. The Flying B Invitational (young up & coming bull riders) takes place during the CFD rodeo performances from Saturday, July 20 – Saturday, July 27th. You've got to come out to see the future of bull riding - right here at the Daddy of 'em All! These young men have so much spirit, try and talent that the future of rodeo and bull riding looks to be in good hands.

Let's Rodeo – CFD Style!

3H Photography was happy to shoot both rounds of the Flying B Youth Bull Riding Finals today (June 1st) at the Archer Complex here in Cheyenne, WY. It is an honor to be the official photographer for the Flying B as they put on top-shelf events, and today's performances were outstanding. Great job cowboys & cowgirls!

Rodeo fans, family and cowboys - it's almost that time! Based on a lot of encouragement, I'm going to step-up my youth rodeo schedule and do more work for the future of rodeo. A schedule of youth rodeos and bull ridings for this summer is below, so anytime I'm not in the woods, I'll be in the arena. All of these events will be at the Archer Complex here in Cheyenne, and I will also be shooting the Flying B Invitational at CFD again this year.
